Somerset Play and Participation Service

This project is provided through a service level agreement with Somerset County Council and is managed by Barnardo's South West.

The project is currently running from offices in Taunton but is likely to move to Shepton Mallet in the next few months.

The Somerset Play and Participation Service (SPPS) spend most of their time increasing and improving wild and adventurous outdoor play opportunities for children and young people in Somerset. This takes the form of a variety of projects, many aimed at the most vulnerable and hard to reach children and young people in the County.

Examples of projects include; consultation and design work on play space developments, series of wild play sessions, regular weekly groups in Yeovil and Taunton promoting free play and Play Rangers (see separate page).
