Local Play Associations
There is one local Play Associations in Somerset. This group works hard to provide a range of services for play workers and for children and young people in their District. If you are interested in joining their work, being a committee member or helping at events please get in touch with them directly.

Taunton Deane Play Association host an annual Play Day in Taunton, support holiday playschemes and run regular training events.
South Somerset Play Association:
This play association has recently dissolved due to a lack of a functioning committee. The training prgramme will be taken up by the Yeovil and Doser Forest School Initiative go to: http://www.foresteducation.org/local_groups.php for more information.
Play day in Yeovil will now be organised by SSDC so pleasse go to the SSDC website for more information: www.southsomerset.gov.uk
Remaining funds have been given to Somerset Play Forum to administer a small grant programme for the District between now and 31st december 2010.
Mendip, Sedgemoor and West Somerset:
There are currently no Play Associations in these Districts. If you believe in children and young people's right to access good quality play opportunities and would like to start a Play Association in one of these Districts please Contact Us and we will support you in any way we can.
In West Somerset the main provider is:
CLOWNS
- Creating Learning Opportunities in West Somerset:
CLOWNS
is undoubably the largest play provider in West Somerset and although
not a Play Association, they do have lots of links to other local
organisations across the District. They run regular training sessions
